Interaction of Intraprocedural Antiplatelets and Intravenous Thrombolysis in Acute Intracranial Stenting: RESISTANT Registry Subanalysis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Objective Acute intracranial stenting during endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) for ischemic stroke requires intraprocedural antiplatelet therapy (APT) to maintain patency. However, the hemorrhagic risk of combining APT with intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) remains uncertain.

Periodontitis and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease: A critical appraisal

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract In spite of intensive research efforts driving spectacular advances in terms of prevention and treatments, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain a leading health burden, accounting for 32% of all deaths (World Health Organization. “Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs).” WHO, February 1, 2017, https://www.who.int/news‐room/fact‐sheets/detail ...

Research Progress of Carotid Artery Injury Caused by Radiotherapy for Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

open access: yesZhongliu Fangzhi Yanjiu, 2021
Neck radiotherapy is an important means to prevent and treat cervical lymph node metastasis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Studies have found that radiation can directly or indirectly damage blood vessels, accelerate the process of atherosclerosis, and ...

Optimization of Magnetic Milli‐Spinner for Robotic Endovascular Intervention

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents the design optimization of a multifunctional magnetic milli‐spinner for high‐speed propulsion and efficient clot debulking. The optimized design achieves an ultrafast swimming velocity of 55 cm/s (≈175 body lengths/s) in saline water, enabling stable upstream swimming against strong physiological flows and establishing magnetic milli‐

Positional transient loss of consciousness and hemispheric deficits in the setting of severe four-vessel extracranial cerebrovascular disease

open access: yesJournal of Vascular Surgery Cases and Innovative Techniques, 2019
Carotid artery stenosis typically causes hemispheric neurologic effects by atheroembolism. Nonhemispheric symptoms, such as syncope, are generally not attributable to extracranial carotid disease.

Ophthalmic artery flow direction change predicts recurrence of ischemic stroke after carotid stenting: a longitudinal observational study

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Medical Research, 2023
Background and purpose The implantation of carotid artery stents prevents recurrent ischemic stroke in patients with carotid stenosis. This study aimed to investigate associations between change of ophthalmic artery flow (COAF) post carotid stenting and ...

Selective Inhibition of Integrin β3 Topology Provides a Safer Antithrombotic Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current integrin αIIbβ3 inhibitors effectively reduce thrombosis but also increase bleeding risk. During thrombosis, high shear blood flow can directly activate the integrin αIIbβ3 via a distinct topological change in the β3 transmembrane domain, independent of hemostatic platelet signaling.
