Surgical Management of Arterial Thoracic Outlet Syndrome due to Cervical Rib in a 17‐Year‐Old Male With Gangrenous Ulcer on Fingertip Requiring Multiple Bypass: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Arterial thoracic outlet syndrome (ATOS) is a rare condition, affecting 1% to 5% of TOS cases, characterized by the compression of the subclavian artery, often due to anatomical anomalies like cervical ribs. Cervical ribs that are not a very common anatomical anomaly can give rise to arterial supply compromise needing surgical intervention to ...

The Correlations and Predictive Capabilities of the “Life's Essential 8” With Respect to All‐Cause Mortality and Cardiovascular Disease Mortality Risks in Individuals Experiencing Sleep Disorders: A Prospective Cohort Study From the NHANES (2005–2014)

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 5, May 2026.
The study shows the inverse correlation between Life's Essential 8 (LE8) scores and the risks of all‐cause and cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality among patients with sleep disorders using data from NHANES 2005–2014. ABSTRACT Background Life's Essential 8 (LE8) is a framework for assessing cardiovascular health (CVH).

Empirical Anatomical Versus HAFE‐Guided Cardioneuroablation for Vasovagal Syncope: Long‐Term Efficacy and Safety Outcomes

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 5, May 2026.
EAGC and HAFE‐guided cardioneuroablation achieve equivalent 24‐month syncope‐free survival and similar quality of life improvements. HAFE‐guided ablation significantly reduces procedure time and radiation exposure while maintaining comparable safety, supporting its procedural efficiency for vasovagal syncope.

Exercise Effect on Cerebral Artery Hemodynamic and Morphology in Stroke Patients: A Randomized Trial

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 5, May 2026.
This randomized trial assessed the effects of aerobic exercise training (AET) on cerebral artery morphology and hemodynamics in post‐stroke patients as assessed by novel ultrasonography techniques. High‐intensity cycling AET improved cerebral artery morphology and arterial stiffness, offering a non‐invasive intervention for cerebrovascular remodeling ...

Investigating Novel Inflammatory Indices and Their Links to Mortality, Cancer, and Cardiovascular Disease: A 10‐Year Cohort Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Background and Aims Inflammatory indices, including neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte‐platelet ratio (NLPR), systemic immune‐inflammation index (SII), platelet‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (NLR) have been proposed as prognostic markers for mortality.
