Chondromyxoid Fibroma in a Carpal Bone

Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 1984
An unusual lesion developed in the trapezoid of a 25-year-old man. The tumor had histologic features most consistent with a diagnosis of chondromyxoid fibroma and had not recurred four years after curettage and bone grafting.

Treatment of intraosseous ganglia and bone cysts of the carpal bones with injectable calcium phosphate bone cement.

Hand Surgery, 2008
This article documents the outcome of treatment of intraosseous ganglia and simple bone cysts of the carpal bones by curettage and injectable calcium phosphate bone cement (CPC) grafting. The patients consisted of five men and three women.

Coalition of the carpal bones

Skeletal Radiology, 1981
Eight patients with carpal coalition are recorded in a predominantly white population with an incidence of 0.11%. These most commonly involve the lunate and triquetral, and the capitate and hamate, and less commonly fusion of the trapezium and trapezoid with the scaphoid.

[Mechanics of the perilunate carpal bones and their injury patterns including post-traumatic instability with reference to rare clinical cases].

Zeitschrift für Orthopädie und ihre Grenzgebiete, 2008
There is given a survey of recent findings of the biomechanics of the carpal bones of which the complex of the os scaphoideum, lunatum and capitatum has the key role. The mechanism of injury and posttraumatic instability of the wrist are presented.

The three-dimensional rotational behaviors of the carpal bones.

Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 1982
The rotational behaviors of the carpal bones of ten fresh cadaver forearms were determined using a three-dimensional sonic digitizer, as the hands were passively moved through planar constrained motions.

INDICATIONS FOR OPEN REDUCTION OF LUNATE AND PERILUNATE DISLOCATIONS OF THE CARPAL BONES.

Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. American volume, 1965
Au immjury severe enough to cause carpal dislocation usually produces much danmage to the soft parts as well. The treatment chosen should restore the best fimmictioml possible.

Carpal Bone Cyst

1992
Roentgenograms of 1273 wrists of 877 outpatients and 156 wrists of 79 patients with vibration disease were reviewed in order to analyze the clinical and radiographic features of carpal bone cysts. The evaluation included the incidence, location, and size of the cysts. Correlations between incidence and age, sex, laterality, and ulnar variance were also

Galloping exercise induces regional changes in bone density within the third and radial carpal bones of Thoroughbred horses.

Equine Veterinary Journal, 1999
This study was performed to test the hypothesis that a localised bone hypertrophy could occur within the subchondral cancellous architecture of the third and radial carpal bones.

AVASCULAR NECROSIS OF CARPAL BONES

Magnetic Resonance Imaging Clinics of North America, 1995
MR imaging is extremely well suited to detection of early phases of avascular necrosis, permitting diagnosis before collapse of the carpal bones has occurred. The sensitivity of this imaging modality allows differentiation of subtle changes in the bone marrow signal. This is used as criteria for a new stage classification of Kienböck's disease based on

Wrist Arthrodesis with Excision of the Proximal Carpal Bones Using the AO/ASIF Wrist Fusion Plate and Local Bone Graft

Journal of Hand Surgery-American Volume, 2001
We present our series of 17 patients who underwent wrist arthrodesis with excision of the proximal row carpal bones using the AO wrist fusion plate and local bone graft obtained from the excised proximal carpal row.
