Neotectonic movements in the carpathians
Tectonophysics, 1984Abstract This article discusses the main results of neotectonic investigations in the Polish Carpathians. Longitudinal elevations and isolated blocks have been uplifted at different rates, ranging from 0.05 to 0.3 mm/yr. Intramontane basins and longitudinal depressions reveal subsidence attaining 0.12 mm/yr.

The Stark Carpathians: Ritual, Text, and Authority Among Ukraine’s Hutsulsaddresses rituals and texts in a small mountainous area located in today’s Ukraine. The residents of this remote region are known as the Hutsuls. This book argues that Hutsul rituals and texts, cast as ancient and extraordinary, had more mundane roots.
