Flora Palinologica Italiana, Sezione Aeropalinologica—S 303:Carpinus betulus L

Aerobiologia, 1992

Hyperspectral leaf reflectance of Carpinus betulus L. saplings for urban air quality estimation

Environmental Pollution, 2017
In urban areas, the demand for local assessment of air quality is high. The existing monitoring stations cannot fulfill the needs. This study assesses the potential of hyperspectral tree leaf reflectance for monitoring traffic related air pollution.

Dorsi-ventral leaf reflectance properties of Carpinus betulus L.: An indicator of urban habitat quality

Environmental Pollution, 2012
The objective of this paper is to give an account of the evaluation of the effect of urban habitat quality on dorsi-ventral leaf reflectance asymmetry to bio-monitor urban habitat pollution. Reflectance in the RGB bands of a reflex camera is measured at the adaxial and abaxial sides of Carpinus betulus L. leaves for two contrasting urban habitats, e.g.;

Pyrolysis of hornbeam (Carpinus betulus L.) sawdust: Characterization of bio-oil and bio-char

Bioresource Technology, 2016
Slow pyrolysis of hornbeam (Carpinus betulus L.) sawdust was performed to produce bio-oil and bio-char. The operational variables were as follows: pyrolysis temperature (400-600°C), heating rate (10-50°Cmin-1) and nitrogen flow rate (50-150cm3min-1). Physicochemical and thermogravimetric characterizations of hornbeam sawdust were performed.

Range wide versus local patterns of genetic diversity in hornbeam (Carpinus betulus L.)

Conservation Genetics, 2005
A study based on AFLP markers was conducted to characterise the present population genetic structure of Carpinus betulus in Europe and to formulate guidelines for the use of this species in plantations on a local scale in Flanders. High within-population diversity and little (but significant) genetic differentiation were detected at both Flemish and ...

2012
Some features of european hornbeam area are discussed. A mape of geographical distribution of Carpinus betulus in Ukraine is presented. Possibility of forests survival on western slopes of MiddleRussian Uprise and then subsequent migration along valleys of Desna, Sula, Psel and Vorskla rivers is ascertained.

Spatial sporophore pattern of ectomycorrhizal fungi in a hornbeam (Carpinus betulus L.) forest

Forest Ecology and Management, 1994
Abstract Relationships between the spatial distributions of the 15 most frequent ectomycorrhizal macrofungal species were studied over a 5 year period using 100 permanent plots (5 m 2 ) in a pure stand of Carpinus betulus in south Sweden. Highly significant negative relations were obtained between the sporophore production of most of the species ...
