Asset Redeployability and Biodiversity Risk

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We examine how asset redeployability influences a firm's exposure to biodiversity risk. Our empirical analysis provides robust evidence that firms possessing greater levels of redeployable assets exhibit significantly lower biodiversity risk.

Rewilding with large herbivores: Positive direct and delayed effects of carrion on plant and arthropod communities.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Carrion of large animals is an extremely nutrient rich, ephemeral resource that is essential for many species, but is scarce in the anthropogenic Western-European landscape due to legislative restrictions.

Greening the Workplace: Unlocking Green Performance Through Human Resource Management and Employee Behaviour

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study explores the role of green human resource management (GHRM) and employees' green behaviour (GB) in enhancing firms' green performance. Specifically, it investigates how GHRM practices contribute to improving the firm's overall environmental performance by fostering employees' GB.

Integration of specific metrics can promote the understanding of scavenging dynamics

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution
Vertebrate scavenging contributes to key ecosystem functions through the cycling of nutrients from carrion. However, the dynamics of scavenging are complex with many unknowns, necessitating the use of multiple metrics to measure the dynamics within ...

Does carcass decomposition affect soil-dwelling enchytraeids?

open access: yesSoil Organisms, 2023
Carcass decomposition causes substantial changes in the humidity and chemistry of adjacent soil. Its potential effect on Enchytraeidae (Annelida: Clitellata) has, hitherto, not been studied.

Diurnal patterns of postfeeding larval dispersal in carrion blowflies (Diptera: Calliphoridae)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Entomology, 2001
A study of the diurnal rhythms in the postfeeding dispersal of the larvae of two coexisting carrion blowfly species, Calliphora vomitoria and Lucilia caesar, from corpses was conducted in the field.

Diurnal Oviposition of Blow Flies in Different Aged Carrion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Blow flies (Diptera: Calliphoridae) are among the first insects to oviposit (lay eggs) on carrion. The timing of blow fly oviposition is critical for determining a postmortem interval (PMI) estimation, which is the time that has passed between death and ...

Microstructural evolution of V‐Ti‐B based high‐temperature alloys during surface conditioning by means of laser beam melting Entwicklung der Gefüge von V‐Ti‐B‐Hochtemperatur‐Legierungen während der Oberflächenmodifikation mittels selektivem Laserstrahlschmelzen

open access: yesMaterialwissenschaft und Werkstofftechnik, EarlyView.
This study explores laser beam melting (LBM) on V‐Ti‐B alloys for high‐temperature applications. By applying two laser power levels, researchers analyzed microstructural evolution via scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy. Hardness tests revealed surface conditioning increases of 5 % ‐ 33 %.

Development Modeling of Phormia regina (Diptera: Calliphoridae)

open access: yesInsects
A series of experiments were conducted on Phormia regina, a forensically important blow fly species, that met the requirements needed to create statistically valid development models.
