Carryover Bias in Clinical Investigations
The Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 1993If the effect of a treatment continues after the treatment is withdrawn then the response to a second treatment may well be due in part to the previous treatment. This, so called, carryover effect may bias any type of study in which subjects are tested more than once. Crossover studies can be routinely checked for this bias.

Relevance of EDTA carryover during blood collection
Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (CCLM), 2015AbstractThe order of draw is regarded as a preanalytical issue to prevent carryover of additives during blood collection. Our objective was to prove the theory of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) carryover for a closed vacuum system and the influence of EDTA on concentrations of selected biomarkers. To test the carryover of EDTA, a blood ...

1998(Minimum) effective frequency is of course used in media planning to calculate the effective reach of the campaign, per advertising cycle. But many campaigns are designed to last beyond the time at which the ad or ads appear, that is, to “carry over.” About the only approach to handling this has been (1979), (1984) concept of Adstock (also Broadbent ...
