Numerical and Experimental Study of High‐Speed Laser Cutting of Copper Current Collectors: Process Optimization for Quality Assessment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study employs a CFD model to simulate laser cutting of copper current collectors used for Li‐Ion battery production. This model predicts cut edge quality by assessing the influence of power, scanner speed, and foil thickness. Defects are classified and an optimal working area is found.

Optical Self‐Tuning of Ferroelectric Metasurfaces Infiltrated with Nematic Liquid Crystals via Photovoltaic Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A novel scheme is introduced to achieve optical self‐tuning in ferroelectric lithium niobate (LN) metasurfaces equipped with a thin film of liquid crystals (LCs). The resonant optical field distributions inside the meta‐atoms can induce a photovoltaic (PV) field, which reorients the surrounding LCs.

A NOVEL CONCEPT OF THE THEORY OF DYNAMICS OF NUMBERS AND ITS APPLICATION IN THE QUADRATIC EQUATION [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mechanics of Continua and Mathematical Sciences
Considering the basic role of numbers in Mathematics, Science, and Technology the author developed a new structure of numbers named as ‘Theory of Dynamics of Numbers.’ According to the Theory of Dynamics of Numbers, the author defined 0 (zero) is the ...

3D inversion of full gravity gradient tensor data in spherical coordinate system using local north-oriented frame

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2017
In this paper, we propose an inverse method for full gravity gradient tensor data in the spherical coordinate system. As opposed to the traditional gravity inversion in the Cartesian coordinate system, our proposed method takes the curvature of the Earth,

Spin‐Orbit Photonics with Potato Starch Lenses

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Native potato starch spherulites are introduced as volumetric optical elements that modulate both dynamic and geometric phases of light. These spherulites focus light and generate optical vortices via spin‐orbit interaction, functioning as polarization‐sensitive microlenses. Their unique radial anisotropy enables applications in vortex beam generation,

Influence of Secondary Currents on Solute Dispersion in Curved Open Channels

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
The dispersion coefficient tensor including off-diagonal components was introduced in the flow with secondary currents, which is called skewed shear flow dispersion (SSFD) coefficient tensor, in this paper.

Design Method of Time‐Multiplexed Ultrashort Throw Ratio Projection System with Low Distortion and Uniform Resolution

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
This work develops an ultrashort throw ratio (UTR) laser projection system using time‐multiplexed micro electro mechanical systems scanning. Trapezoidal distortion via vertical laser incidence control is eliminated and a systematic design method integrating a miniaturized catadioptric objective that maintains uniform optical étendue is proposed.

Gyroscopically Stabilized Robot: Balance and Tracking

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2008
The single wheel, gyroscopically stabilized robot - Gyrover, is a dynamically stable but statically unstable, underactuated system. In this paper, based on the dynamic model of the robot, we investigate two classes of nonholonomic constraints associated ...
