CUDA Implementation of a Euler Solver for Cartesian Grid

2013 IEEE 10th International Conference on High Performance Computing and Communications & 2013 IEEE International Conference on Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing, 2013
Based on the features of GPU architecture, this paper introduces CUDA into an existing Euler solver software for a 3-D Cartesian grid. Theories and Techniques used to solve the equations with finite volume methods using an explicit scheme are described. Two versions of GPU-based Cart Solver are implemented and optimized.

FDTD in Cartesian and Spherical Grids

2018
The numerical dispersion relation is derived for the finite-difference time-domain method when implemented on spherical grids using Maxwell’s equations in spherical coordinates. Derivation is appropriately based on elementary spherical functions which renders the resulting numerical dispersion relation valid for all spherical FDTD space including near ...

Airfoil Calculations in Cartesian Grids

1989
A technique to compute two-dimensional flows on Cartesian grids in the presence of bodies of arbitrary shape is presented. The basic technique is patterned on the A-scheme and shock-fitting procedures. The special handling of boundary conditions on rigid bodies is described in detail. A description of the application of the technique to the calculation

A 3D Anisotropic Cartesian Grid Generation Method and its Applications in Viscosity Flows

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2015
In this paper, a 3D anisotropic Cartesian grid generation method is produced. With this technique, the fine parts of missiles that have small geometry scale can be described with high quality, which of course will improve the aerodynamics prediction ...

Grid embedding technique using Cartesian grids for Euler solutions

AIAA Journal, 1988
Grid-embedding techniques are presently applied to the solutions of the Euler equations on Cartesian grids for the NACA 0012 airfoil and the multielement SKF1.1 airfoil at transonic speeds. Based on comparisons with solutions on fine grids, it is shown that the present scheme, when used in conjunction with the Runge-Kutta time-stepping scheme as well ...

A uniformly stable conformal FDTD‐method in Cartesian grids

International Journal of Numerical Modelling: Electronic Networks, Devices and Fields, 2003
AbstractA conformal finite‐difference time‐domain algorithm for the solution of electrodynamic problems in general perfectly conducting 3D geometries is presented. Unlike previous conformal approaches it has the second‐order convergence without the need to reduce the maximal stable time step of conventional staircase approach.
