AI‐BioMech: Deep Learning Prediction of Mechanical Behavior in Aperiodic Biological Cellular Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
AI‐BioMech is a deep learning framework that predicts the mechanical behavior of biological cellular materials directly from 2D images. By replacing traditional finite element analysis with semantic segmentation, it identifies stress and strain distributions with 99% accuracy, offering a high‐speed, scalable alternative for analyzing complex, aperiodic

An Embedded Boundary Algorithm for Large Eddy Simulations in Complex Geometries [PDF]

open access: yesINCAS Bulletin, 2012
The paper presents a novel implementation of the embedded boundary algorithm in a Large Eddy Simulation CFD algorithm. The embedded boundary method aims at allowing the simulation of complex geometry flows on Cartesian computational grids, increasing the

Perfect codes in Cartesian products of hypercube and multidimensional grid

open access: yesElectronic Notes in Discrete Mathematics, 2005
Abstract We introduce and study a common generalization of 1-error binary perfect codes and perfect single error correcting codes in Lee metric, namely perfect codes on products of paths of lenght 2 and of infinite lenght. Both existence and inexistence results are given. The generalization to multiple error perfect code will also be mentioned.

A conservative finite volume method for incompressible Navier-Stokes equations on locally refined nested Cartesian grids

open access: yes, 2018
A second-order-accurate finite-volume method is developed for the solution of incompressible Navier-Stokes equations on locally refined nested Cartesian grids.

Adaptive Multi-Grid Methods for Parallel CFD Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Computational fluid dynamic (CFD) computations are memory and time intensive and need to be executed in parallel for larger computational domains. In order to produce physical accurate solutions, adaptive grid setups have to be chosen as the memory and ...

Optimizing 3D Bin Packing of Heterogeneous Objects Using Continuous Transformations in SE(3)

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This article presents a method for solving the three‐dimensional bin packing problem for heterogeneous objects using continuous rigid‐body transformations in SE(3). A heuristic optimization framework combines signed‐distance functions, neural network approximations, point‐cloud bin modeling, and physics simulation to ensure feasibility and stability ...

High-order interpolation between adjacent cartesian finite difference grids of different size [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Nested cartesian grid systems by design require interpolation of solution fields from coarser to finer grid systems. While several choices are available, preserving accuracy, stability and efficiency at the same time require careful design of the ...

Radiation‐Absorptive Heat Transport in Buoyancy‐Driven MHD Nanofluids Flow With Cross‐Diffusion and Chemical Interaction Effects Over a Vertical Moving Plate

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article investigates the Soret–Dufour cross‐diffusion effects on radiation‐absorptive unsteady free‐convection of magnetized nanofluids (TiO2–water$$ {\mathrm{TiO}}_2\hbox{--} \mathrm{water} $$ and Cu–water$$ \mathrm{Cu}\hbox{--} \mathrm{water} $$) flow over a vertical moving permeable plate.

Simulation of Logging-while-drilling Tool Response Using Integral Equation Fast Fourier Transform

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences, 2017
We rely on the volume integral equation (VIE) method for the simulation of loggingwhile- drilling (LWG) tool response using the integral equation fast Fourier transform (IE-FFT) algorithm to accelerate the computation of the matrix-vector product in the ...
