Late Antique Allāh: Ancestral Arabian Religion and the Monotheistic Zeitgeist
Arabian Archaeology and Epigraphy, EarlyView.ABSTRACT This essay addresses the ongoing scholarly tension between the monotheistic interpretations of late pre‐Islamic Arabian religion, pioneered by G. Hawting and P. Crone, and the traditional accounts of rampant Arabian polytheism found in later Islamic literary sources.

Surveying Rubens’ late landscapes: New cartographic and archival sources on Het Steen
Oud Holland – Journal for Art of the Low Countries, 2023 Since the late nineteenth century, no new archival research on Peter Paul Rubens’ estate Het Steen has been published. Throughout the twentieth century, it has been assumed that art historians, such as Max Rooses, had depleted the archives for clues on Rubens’ country seat. No further targeted searches were undertaken.
