Summary In 2021, for the first time, the EU Member States were required to include Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS) in their Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) Strategic Plans (2023–2027). We present the findings of empirical research into how this requirement has influenced the development of national AKIS.

Three closely linked X‐chromosomal genes potentially control sex determination in Cannabis sativa
Summary Sex determination mechanisms in dioecious plants remain poorly understood yet offer an excellent model system to study genetic changes underlying morphological evolution. We investigated the genetic basis of sex determination in Cannabis sativa, combining quantitative trait locus mapping in a segregating population, comparative transcriptomics ...

Cartography of the Phenomenon and the Phenomenon as Cartography [PDF]
Abstract This paper discusses Gilbert Ryle’s image of philosophy as cartography in an attempt to explore the idea of a cartography of the phenomenon, confronting it with the sense it takes in Edmund Husserl’s transcendental phenomenology.

A novel approach for distinguishing noise and information in forest MLS‐point clouds
Abstract 3D laser scanning is a cornerstone of modern forest and ecological research, allowing detailed insight into forest structures and dynamics. Although point cloud processing and noise management are crucial steps in the exploitation of LiDAR data, traditional denoising methods are usually based on the assumption of a Gaussian noise distribution,

(Not) On the Map: Story‐Mapping Uncertainties in Syrians' Displacement Between Syria and Tunisia
ABSTRACT One way of challenging hegemonic narratives about migration to Europe is to foreground aspects we do not know for certain. Representations of uncertainties point to a challenge to critical migration researchers: how does human movement exceed predictable responses to borders? This is a conceptual, but also an ethical question, as it compels us

We demonstrated a new approach for estimating fine‐scale 3‐dimensional (3D) visibility based on single scans from a terrestrial laser scanner. Our method produced results that were comparable to traditional 2D visibility estimates assessed with profile boards but provides comprehensive information across all directions and continuous distances ...
