Dynamical modelling and simulation of a cascaded reserevoirs hydropower plant
Electric Power Systems Research, 2004Abstract The cascaded reservoirs hydropower plant is a complex nonlinear system that involves interacting input and output nonlinear parameters, nonlinear flow rates, and nonlinear dynamical hydraulic heads. It needs an exclusively designed supervisory control and optimization system.

REAL-TIME OPTIMIZATION OF A CASCADED RESERVOIRS HYDROPOWER PLANT BASED ON FUZZY LOGIC
Control and Intelligent Systems, 2007Summary: One of the important industrial areas that involve complex nonlinear dynamics, control problems, and difficult optimization tasks is that of cascaded reservoirs hydropower plants. For the purpose of minimizing the non-hydraulic power production expenses by means of maximizing the cascaded reservoirs hydropower plant's operational envelope, a ...

A SCADA System for Water Potential Management of a Hydropower Plants Cascade
2006 IEEE International Conference on Automation, Quality and Testing, Robotics, 2006Hydropower plants exploitation optimization is a subject of interest everywhere. By optimizing the hydropower plants exploitation we refer to the use of water resources so that the power production is maximized, respecting, at the same time, the constraints imposed by the water consumer from the geographical region. The software system can successfully

A Fuzzy-Dynamic-Programming Approach to the Scheduling of Cascaded Hydropower Plants
Advanced Materials Research, 2013An optimization-based algorithm is presented for the optimal operation of hydropower systems with cascaded hydro-plants. Continuous reservoir dynamics and constraints, discrete operating states, and hydraulic coupling of cascaded hydro-plants are considered in an integrated way.

Algorithms of In-Station Optimization in the Simulation Model of a Hydropower Plants Cascade
2018 XIV International Scientific-Technical Conference on Actual Problems of Electronics Instrument Engineering (APEIE), 2018The paper deals with the schematic diagram of mathematical model of Pamir's electric power system where cascades of hydroelectric power stations dominate in power generation. The problem of active power flow optimization between the hydropower units is considered in detail with the help of mathematical models purposely designed to address the problem ...

Abstract Pumped-storage hydropower is one of the most viable large-scale energy storage options. When managed optimally, pumped-storage hydropower may also bring monetary benefits due to price variations in the electricity market. Two main concerns are the lack of suitable sites and potential environmental impacts, which can be alleviated by using ...

Impacts of cascaded small hydropower plants on microzooplankton in Xiangxi River, China
Acta Ecologica Sinica, 2009Abstract The impacts of small hydropower plants (SHPs) on zooplankton assemblages were investigated in six cascaded SHPs along the Xiangxi River in October 2005. Five sites were sampled at each SHP. Fifty-six rotifer species which belong to 21 genera of 13 families and a nauplius species were identified in this study.

Backwater Effect over Tailrace Water Level in Cascade Hydropower Plants
World Environmental and Water Resources Congress 2013, 2013Brazil currently has more than one hundred medium and large hydropower plants which, together with small hydropower plants, produce on average 91% of the total electricity in the country. To use most of the hydropower potential of a basin, hydropower plants are built normally in cascade.
