Nonlinear waves on the surface of a fluid covered by an elastic sheet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We experimentally study linear and nonlinear waves on the surface of a fluid covered by an elastic sheet where both tension and flexural waves take place.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Flow field reconstruction and prediction of the supersonic cascade channel based on a symmetry neural network under complex and variable conditions

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
A data-driven model containing a symmetrical deep neural network is proposed to reconstruct the flow field structure in a cascade channel by measuring discrete pressure values on the wall of the supersonic cascade channel.

Information cascade final size distributions derived from urn models

open access: yesApplied Network Science, 2023
Bipolarization is a phenomenon in which either a large or very small information cascade appears randomly when the retweet rate is high. This phenomenon, which has been observed only in simulations, has the potential to significantly advance the ...

Tandem Cascade Flow Prediction by POD-RBFN Reduced Order Model

open access: yesHangkong gongcheng jinzhan, 2022
The cost of obtaining a large amount of flow field information by traditional experiment or CFD is unacceptable,so it is of significance to develop faster forecasting calculation methods.Proper orthogonal decomposition(POD)is used to extract the dominant

Learning user-specific latent influence and susceptibility from information cascades

open access: yes, 2015
Predicting cascade dynamics has important implications for understanding information propagation and launching viral marketing. Previous works mainly adopt a pair-wise manner, modeling the propagation probability between pairs of users using n^2 ...

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

INTEGRATING CLINICAL AND BLOOD COUNT DATA INTO A HYBRID MODEL TO PREDICT THROMBIN PROFILES AND VENOUS THROMBOEMBOLISM RISK

open access: yesHematology, Transfusion and Cell Therapy, 2023
Background: Mathematical models play a crucial role in comprehending the intricate interactions and cascade reactions of chemical species involved in the blood coagulation cascade. Accurate models facilitate the prediction of thrombin profiles, aiding in

Mechanisms of IgE‐mediated food allergy and the role of allergen‐specific B cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Food allergy arises when allergen‐specific B cells preferentially produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against harmless foods. This article explains the mechanisms driving IgE‐mediated reactions, highlights the central role of these B cells, and discusses how natural tolerance (NT) and oral immunotherapy (OIT) can reshape allergic immune responses.
