A Novel Hybrid Cascaded Multilevel Inverter

2018 IEEE International Power Electronics and Application Conference and Exposition (PEAC), 2018
This paper introduces a novel hybrid cascaded multilevel inverter. It is a series connection of two asymmetrical inverters, compared to the traditional cascaded multilevel inverter, the proposed cascaded inverter can produce more output levels using the same switches, the most number of output levels and modulation strategy are analyzed.

Investigation of a cascade multilevel inverter as an STATCOM

2003 IEEE Power Engineering Society General Meeting (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37491), 2004
A 7-level cascaded H-bridge inverter was chosen as candidate design for a multilevel STATCOM (M-STATCOM). The investigation studied the operation of the M-STATCOM in areas such as: steady state performance, dynamic behavior of the M-STATCOM and control and balancing of the capacitor voltages.

Optimal Structures for Cascaded Multilevel Inverter

International Journal of Computing Algorithm, 2017
The general function of a multilevel inverter is to synthesize a desired output voltage from several levels of dc voltages as inputs. In order to increase the steps in the output voltage, a new H- bridge topology is recommended which benefits from a series connection of several sub-multilevel inverters. In addition, for producing an output voltage with

Cascaded multilevel inverters fault control

International Aegean Conference on Electrical Machines and Power Electronics and Electromotion, Joint Conference, 2011
This paper proposes a new control method to increase cascaded multilevel inverters (GVfl) efficiency at faulty condition. The influence of most probability fault on GVfl with carrier based pulse width modulation (CBPWM) is investigated and the maximum output voltage is derived without elimination of faulty power cell.

Multilevel inverter employing cascaded transformers

IECON'03. 29th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37468), 2004
This paper presents a novel multilevel inverter employing series-connected transformers to reduce the harmonics of output voltage. The proposed inverter consists of three full-bridge modules and their corresponding transformers. Continuous output voltage levels can be generated from a suitable selection of turn-ratio of transformer.

A novel cascaded multilevel inverter topology

30th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2004. IECON 2004, 2005
A novel cascaded multilevel inverter topology is proposed in this paper, which is composed of any number of H-bridge cells. The H-bridge cells may be two-level ones, or any level of flying-capacitor ones. Different separate voltage sources may be used in different cells.

THD Minimization and Reliability Analysis of Cascaded Multilevel Inverter

Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers, 2023
Inverters are DC to AC power converters that are widely used in AC motor drives and distributed energy generation systems. Multi-Level Inverters (MLIs) have emerged as the preferred inverter technology because of their advantages of reduced switching losses and better harmonic profile.
