Improved performance of cascaded multilevel inverter

2016 International Conference on Microelectronics, Computing and Communications (MicroCom), 2016
Cascaded H-Bridge (CHB) Multi-Level Inverter (MLI) is widely known for their better performance. This topology is very widely used in renewable applications due to its advantage in the availability of isolated DC links. However, in MLIs the main constraint lies in the usage of switches, so as to avoid the switching losses.

Topologies for regenerative cascaded multilevel inverters

IEEE 34th Annual Conference on Power Electronics Specialist, 2003. PESC '03., 2003
This paper presents a comparison of several regenerative cascaded inverters and introduces a new topology with a reduced number of power semiconductors. The control strategy of the converters is discussed in detail and results are provided to evaluate the topologies and the control methods.

A Survey on Cascaded Multilevel Inverters

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2010
Cascaded multilevel inverters synthesize a medium-voltage output based on a series connection of power cells which use standard low-voltage component configurations. This characteristic allows one to achieve high-quality output voltages and input currents and also outstanding availability due to their intrinsic component redundancy.

Hybrid Flying Capacitor cascaded multilevel inverter

2014 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion, 2014
The paper presents an analysis of multilevel inverter, which comprised of cascaded 5-level Flying Capacitor (FC) cell and standard 3-level H-bridge cells. The advantages of the proposed inverter upon standard topologies are significant reduction of electrical components and as a result, lower size and weight.

A novel cascaded multilevel inverter topology

30th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2004. IECON 2004, 2005
A novel cascaded multilevel inverter topology is proposed in this paper, which is composed of any number of H-bridge cells. The H-bridge cells may be two-level ones, or any level of flying-capacitor ones. Different separate voltage sources may be used in different cells.

Stacked multicell cascaded transformer multilevel inverter

2012 3rd Power Electronics and Drive Systems Technology (PEDSTC), 2012
This paper presents a novel topology for cascade multilevel inverters. This topology consists of series connected sub-multilevel inverters units that each unit can produce five voltage levels. The new topology has the advantage of a reduced number of switching devices and DC sources compared to traditional configurations. Proposed topology can operates

Cascaded Multilevel Split-Source Inverters: Analysis and Modulation

2019 21st International Middle East Power Systems Conference (MEPCON), 2019
A new cascaded multilevel inverter topology is proposed in this paper. This topology extends the idea of the recently introduced Split-Source Inverter (SSI) to the cascaded Multi-Level Inverter (MLI) configurations. This structure provides the boosting capability in conjunction with the dc to ac conversion in a single unit with reduced passive elements.

Design of New Cascaded Multilevel Inverter Topology

2019 IEEE 5th International Conference for Convergence in Technology (I2CT), 2019
Multilevel Inverter (MLI) has gained a lot of interest in academia and industry as an alternative for high power and medium voltage applications. This paper does the comparison between 19-level symmetrical and proposed asymmetrical MLI. The proposed topology uses unequal DC voltage sources.

Design of Cascaded H-Bridge Multilevel Inverter

2021
Multilevel inverters have been widely used in many applications for improving quality of output voltage and reduce harmonics content in AC output voltage. This paper presents single-phase CHB multilevel inverter design with sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) technique.

Power sharing improvement in cascaded multilevel inverters

Proceedings of 14th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference EPE-PEMC 2010, 2010
Several switching strategies have been developed to overcome the unbalanced working period and power sharing in cascaded multilevel inverters, but the power sharing problem is remained unsolved yet. In this paper, a novel switching method which equalizes the modules' power sharing is presented.
