Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) technologies are tools that provide automated assistance for software development [3]. The goal of introducing CASE tools is the reduction of the time and cost of software development and the enhancement of the quality of the systems developed [3], [20]. This paper explores the use of CASE tools.

ST-tool: a CASE tool for security requirements engineering
13th IEEE International Conference on Requirements Engineering (RE'05), 2005Security requirements engineering is emerging as a branch of software engineering, spurred by the realization that security must be dealt with early on during the requirements phase. We propose ST-tool, a CASE tool developed for modeling and analyzing functional and security requirements.

CASE: analysis and design tools
IEEE Software, 1990Computer-aided software engineering (CASE) tools are defined, and ten CASE tools are briefly overviewed. Individual presentations on the various tools follow. The focus is on structured analysis, design, and programming. Two of the tools (Cradle and JSP Workbench) are implementations of the Yourdon and Jackson methods for structured analysis ...

Selecting a Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tool can be a bewildering task, considering the number and variety of systems on the market. This paper presents a rigorous step-by-step selection process for choosing CASE tools. This algorithm requires that a set of CASE requirements be developed to meet the needs of the software development ...

A comparative evaluation of CASE tools
Journal of Systems and Software, 1998Abstract CASE tools are complex software products offering many different features. Systems professionals evaluated various CASE products from a feature and attribute basis. Each product has a different mix of strengths and weaknesses as perceived by the end user.

Use Case Refactoring: A Tool and a Case Study
11th Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference, 2005Use case models are widely used for requirements engineering to capture functional and nonfunctional requirements, guide scenario-based design and validation, and to manage projects. Our tool for use case development and evolution supports reorganization (refactoring) of use case models as well as the extension of use case models to include new ...

SCALABILITY FOR GRAPH-BASED CASE TOOLS
International Journal of Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering, 1995Software engineering is particularly concerned with the construction of large systems. Existing software engineering tools tend to be adequate for medium-sized systems, but not as useful for large and very large systems. This paper presents a model viewing system as the basis for graph-based CASE tools which overcomes this lack of scalability.
