Granulomatous Omentitis in Multiple Sheep Associated With Trueperella pyogenes and Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis: A Case Series

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 6, November 2025.
Of 6000 sheep inspected, 0.5% had granulomatous omentitis. All affected cases (25/25) were co‐infected with Trueperella pyogenes and Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis, as confirmed by PCR. This suggests a synergistic role for both bacteria in causing chronic abdominal inflammation in sheep.

Cytomorphology in Tuberculous Lymphadenitis and Correlation With Acid Fast Bacilli Detection by Papanicolaou, Auramine‐Rhodamine Fluorescence and Ziehl‐Neelsen Techniques

open access: yesDiagnostic Cytopathology, Volume 53, Issue 8, Page 402-412, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Tuberculosis (TB) is a common cause of lymphadenopathy in developing countries. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) along with acid fast bacilli (AFB) detection is an invaluable diagnostic test. Fluorescent methods for AFB detection have greater sensitivity as compared to the Ziehl‐Neelsen (ZN) method. Methods The incidence of TB

Fever‐Induced Heat Shock Protein‐70 Regulates Macrophage IL‐1β and IL‐10 Secretion During Mycobacterium tuberculosis Infection

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 55, Issue 7, July 2025.
Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection of human monocyte‐derived macrophages during febrile conditions significantly induces heat shock protein‐70 (HSP70) expression, which modulates cytokine responses. This highlights that pathophysiological responses, such as fever, regulate tuberculosis immunopathology.

Recognising cutaneous tuberculosis

open access: yesJDDG: Journal der Deutschen Dermatologischen Gesellschaft, Volume 23, Issue 7, Page 793-802, July 2025.
Summary Tuberculosis (TB) continues to be a leading cause of death in many countries, and also remains a significant concern in Germany, particularly due to migration. The diagnosis of rare cutaneous tuberculosis is challenging as it manifests in various clinical forms that resemble more common dermatological conditions.
