Cash Waqfs in Ottoman Period and The Role of Cash Waqfs in Contemporary Financial Markets
2019Cash waqfs contributed to the stability of the Ottoman economy by lending to individuals and tradesmen for centuries in the Ottoman Empire at a certain borrowing rate. Cash waqfs, which ended their operations with the expansion of banks, are one of the institutions identified with the Ottoman State. This research has two aims.
