Investigation of Laser Ablation and Brush Pre‐Treatments for AlCu Cold Roll Bonding in Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Sprengel's Deformity: A Paediatric Case Report

open access: yesCureus
Sprengel's deformity is a conspicuous anomaly, affecting one or both scapulas. The congenital elevation of the scapula is frequently accompanied by additional anomalies, such as rib, vertebral, or muscular deformities, among which are rib fusion or vertebral deformity. Defects in the cervical vertebrae are most likely to result in Klippel-Feil syndrome,

Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

Mechanical performance experiments on rock and cement, casing residual stress evaluation in the thermal recovery well based on thermal-structure coupling

open access: yesEnergy Exploration & Exploitation, 2017
Thermal stress deformation can cause serious casing damage and failure problems in thermal recovery wells. In this paper, mechanical performance experiments on rock and cement are carried out first, and then a finite element mechanical model of thermal ...

Molded composite pyrogen igniter for rocket motors [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
A lightweight pyrogen igniter assembly including an elongated molded plastic tube adapted to contain a pyrogen charge was designed for insertion into a rocket motor casing for ignition of the rocket motor charge. A molded plastic closure cap provided for

Size-independent Shear Band Formation in Amorphous Nanowires made from Simulated Casting

open access: yes, 2010
Molecular dynamics simulations indicate that surfaces strongly influence the strain localization behavior of amorphous nanowires in tension. A sample preparation routine that simulates casting was employed to facilitate the relaxation of the sample ...

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Nitrogen-Foamed Cement Slurry for Mitigating Casing Deformation during Hydraulic Fracturing

open access: yesYouqicang pingjia yu kaifa
During the multi-stage volumetric fracturing of shale gas horizontal wells, the problem of casing deformation severely restricts the efficient development of shale gas.

On global deformation quantization in the algebraic case

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2007
We give a proof of Yekutieli's global algebraic deformation quantization result which does not rely on the choice of local sections of the bundle of affine coordinate systems. Instead we use an argument inspired by algebraic De Rham cohomology.
