Tin isotope fractionation in terrestrial cassiterites
Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 1991Abstract The isotopic composition of tin has been measured in a range of cassiterites and pure reagents to assess the extent to which this element is isotopically fractionated in natural processes. Only two samples showed evidence of isotopic fractionation, and it is concluded that natural Sn isotope fractionation is small and uncommon.

Cassiterite of the Straits Settlements
Mineralogical Magazine and Journal of the Mineralogical Society, 1886The tin from the Straits Settlements has hitherto been solely derived from the alluvial deposits, and is consequently in the form of alluvial or "stream" tin—each grain of Cassiterite being separate, and in many cases so considerably water-worn as to afford evidence of its having been washed down for a considerable distance; the angles of the grains ...

Cassiterite, “Sparable Tin,” from Cornwall
Mineralogical Magazine and Journal of the Mineralogical Society, 1891During the last few years some fresh specimens of Sparable Tin have been raised from various mines in Cornwall; a description of this variety may therefore be of interest to the Society. The value of this description of the now finds will perhaps be increased by combining with it an account of the specimens of Sparable Tin from different mines now to be

Cassiterite Leaching in Hydrometallurgy: A Review
Global Journal of Engineering and Technology AdvancesCertain hydrometallurgy processes are used in the majority of the main metal manufacturing processes that yield a final metal product. Tin is an essential strategic metal that is widely used in novel energy components, aircraft, and other cutting-edge industries.

Inclusions in cassiterite and associated minerals
Economic Geology, 1960A study was made of the inclusions in 133 specimens of cassiterite and associated minerals from world wide Sn deposits. From the distribution of inclusion types, it would appear that most pegmatitic Sn deposits have been formed from siliceous melts, but that most other types of deposits have been formed from aqueous solutions.
