Moral Economies of Debt Forgiveness and Enforcement in Postcrisis Iceland

open access: yesEconomic Anthropology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Who deserves financial relief in times of crisis, and on what grounds? The 2008 collapse of Iceland's banking system prompted state intervention to mitigate household indebtedness, including forbearance, pension withdrawals, repayment adjustments, and debt reductions.

Smuggling Sovereignty: Trade, Transgression, and State Authority

open access: yesEconomic Anthropology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Global supply chains are saturated with transgressions—corruption, smuggling, document forgery, and other practices that blur the line between legality and illegality. States do not merely endure these practices; they actively shape the conditions for them, producing the very illegal systems they then claim to police.

Kirigami‐Inspired Deployable Microneedle Robot With Enhanced Conformability for Targeted Oral Drug Delivery

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
We have engineered a kirigami‐inspired deployable microneedle robot (KiriBot) capable of remotely controlled attachment to target tissues for sustained drug release. KiriBot incorporates a flexible structure that enhances conformability, improves adherence to irregular tissues, and facilitates microneedle insertion.

Dual‐Component Spidroin‐Based Hydrogels: A Mechanically Tunable Platform for 2D and 3D Cell Culture

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A dual‐component recombinant spider silk hydrogel platform was developed by combining NT2RepCT with a bioactive vitronectin‐functionalized spidroin domain. The hydrogels self‐assemble under physiological conditions, exhibit tunable mechanical properties, and support 2D and 3D cell culture, providing a versatile platform for mechanobiological studies ...
