Collagen hydrolysate is evaluated as a sustainable binder for MgO‐C refractories. Its thermally induced cross‐linking and gas release lead to expansion and cracking in large bricks, but tailored batches with lignin, recyclates, or fine graphite improve the gas release while thermal treatment and stability.

Heat Treatment of S.G Cast Iron [PDF]
S.G Cast iron is defined as a high carbon containing, iron based alloy in which the graphite is present in compact, spherical shapes rather than in the shape of flakes, the latter being typical of gray cast iron .

Jarosite wastes reduction through blast furnace sludges for cast iron production
Jarosite is a dangerous waste derived from the hydrometallurgical route of zinc production, and it cannot be safely disposed of due to its acidic pH and the risk of toxic metal leaching.

This study reports lightweight polyetherimide triply periodic minimal surfaces lattices coated with carbon nanotube‐reinforced epoxy that combine mechanical robustness with self‐sensing. The conformal coating enhances stiffness, strength and energy absorption while enabling reliable strain monitoring.

Continuous Cooling Transformation (CCT) Diagrams Of Carbidic Nodular Cast Iron
This work presents continuous cooling transformation diagrams for different kinds of carbidic nodular cast iron. We investigated the cast iron, chemical composition of which in nodular cast iron allows the obtainment of a metal matrix which consists of ...

Surface Tension Measurement of Ti‐6Al‐4V by Falling Droplet Method in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
In this article, the temperature‐dependent surface tension of free falling, oscillating Ti‐6Al‐4V droplets is investigated in both argon and monosilane doped, oxygen‐free atmosphere. Droplet temperature and oscillation are captured with one single high‐speed camera, and the surface tension is calculated with Rayleigh's formula.

Effect of antimony on the eutectic reaction of heavy section spheroidal graphite castings [PDF]
There is a strong demand for heavy section castings made of spheroidal graphite with a fully ferritic matrix, e.g. for manufacturing hubs for windmills.
