Influence of deflocculants on the cement hydrate phase formation and technological properties of CAC-bonded castables during the first heating process

open access: yesOpen Ceramics, 2023
The mechanism of growth and decomposition of calcium aluminate cement hydrate phases (CAH phases), which determine the drying behaviour of calcium aluminate bonded castables are not well understood.

Investigations of low-cement castables with shamotte aggregate/Mažacemenčio kaitrai atsparaus betono su šamoto užpildu tyrimai

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 1999
The castables with low-cement and normal quantity cement in its composition physical and mechanical properties was investigated. Aggregates of recycled shamotte waste, which are characterised by high water absorption, were used for castables.

Investigation of the milling route for the development of colloidal suspensions to be used as binder in refractory castables

open access: yesOpen Ceramics, 2023
Refractories castables bonded with CAC (calcium aluminate cement) have a limitation when they are used at high temperature in micro-silica containing system and/or in acidic corrosive environments.

Castability of a Commercial Castable Glass Ceramics.

open access: yesDental Materials Journal, 1998
This study was carried out to determine the design and thickness of the cervical margin of a castable ceramic restoration from the point of view of its castability. Castability of castable ceramics was lower compared to Ag-Pd-Au and Co-Cr alloy with the use of the mesh pattern and rod pattern test (p < 0.05).

Simultaneous enhance of the thermal shock resistance and slag-penetration resistance for tundish flow-control refractories: The role of microporous magnesia

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2023
As the low thermal shock and slag-penetration resistance of the magnesia castables cause the premature failure of tundish flow-control devices leading to the pollution of steel, the microporous magnesia with high closed porosity and intergranular CaZrO3 ...

Effect of B2O3 on Volume Stability and Strength of Corundum-based Castables

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes, 2017
Calcium aluminate cements (CAC) with 0.21 wt% B2O3 and without B2O3 were used as binders of corundum-based castables. The properties of the castables with and without B2O3 after heat treatment at 110 °C, 1,100 °C and 1,450 °C were investigated, with ...

Impacto do uso de fibras poliméricas no desempenho de concretos refratários aplicados por projeção Influence of the polymeric fibers on shotcrete refractory castables
