Evaluation of the combined addition of aluminum lactate and calcium carbonate to alumina-based castables [PDF]
Calcium aluminate cement (CAC) can induce the development of high green mechanical strength to refractory castables in a short period of time (24 h). However, the production of this hydraulic binder is energy-intensive and releases a large content of ...

Physical and mechanical properties of low, ultralow and no cement refractory castables containing MgO nanoparticles developed in situ by means of polymeric resins [PDF]
The introduction of MgO nanoparticles developed in situ in the matrix of high-alumina low cement, ultra-low and no cement refractory castables was made by means of a low viscosity containing aqueous polymeric resin, produced by the Pechini method.

Castability of some Magnesium Alloys in a Novel Castability Die [PDF]
This paper reports on the results of the castability of three MRI alloys (153A, 153M and 230D). MRI153A was found to cast best, with castings produced rated with a quality approaching AZ91. MRI230D produced the next best castings, whilst MRI153M showed the worst castability across a range of conditions.
