Human Umbilical Cord Plasma Metabolomics Uncover Potential Metabolites for Combating Aging

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 1, January 2026.
Untargeted metabolomics reveals a unique cord plasma metabolic landscape versus adult. Age‐declining cord‐specific enriched metabolites are identified as antiaging candidates, with a 5‐compound formula validated in proof‐of‐experiments to extend lifespan and healthspan in human cells and C. elegans.

Projecting Climate‐Driven Habitat Loss in Highly Trafficked Lizards: The Role of Dispersal Limitations and Protected Areas

open access: yesDiversity and Distributions, Volume 32, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims Climate change poses severe threats to biodiversity in Australia, particularly for species already at risk from other factors, such as bluetongue lizards (Tiliqua and Cyclodomorphus spp.). Here we model climate‐driven changes in suitable climatic conditions for bluetongue lizards to 2060 and 2100 under multiple climate scenarios and ...

Metabarcoding Reveals a Potentially Undescribed Columnaris‐Causing Bacterium in Peracute Skin Disease of Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss, Walbaum)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, Volume 49, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Columnaris‐causing bacteria (CCB) represent a group of four Flavobacterium species, previously classified under Flavobacterium columnaris, causing a threatening condition in salmonid farming characterised by cutaneous and gill lesions, commonly referred to as ‘saddleback disease’. A peracute skin disease outbreak with high mortality in rainbow
