Comparison of the inclination of unerupted mandibular third molars on panoramic radiography and casts made after surgical incision

open access: yesJournal of Dental Research, Dental Clinics, Dental Prospects, 2009
Background and aims. Panoramic radiographs are used for surgical planning of unerupted third molars. The major problems associated with panoramic radiography include unequal magnification and geometric distortion of the image.

Lower Extremity Cast ApplicationMaster's MethodMaster's MethodMaster's MethodMaster's Method

open access: yesJournal of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America
This chapter will focus on lower extremity casting. Casting is widely recognized as the best treatment for many pediatric lower extremity fractures, unlike those in adults. Due to children's remodeling potential, the displacement threshold for surgery is

Understanding and Optimizing Li Substitution in P2‐Type Sodium Layered Oxides for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

Fabrication of Patient Specific Genioplasty Surgical Template Using Investment Casting

open access: yesBiology and Medicine, 2017
Additive Manufacturing (AM) is one of the best techniques to fabricate customized medical models. This technique best suited for the medical industry. The surgical template design and dimensions vary from patient to patient, depending on the anatomy of the patient. AM provides flexibility to design a patient specific surgical template using the patient

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Lipid Nanoparticles for the Delivery of CRISPR/Cas9 Machinery to Enable Site‐Specific Integration of CFTR and Mutation‐Agnostic Disease Rescue

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) are optimized to co‐deliver Cas9‐encoding messenger RNA (mRNA), a single guide RNA (sgRNA) targeting the endogenous cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene, and homologous linear double‐stranded donor DNA (ldsDNA) templates encoding CFTR.

MnI‐Functionalized Covalent Organic Framework as Efficient Electrocatalyst for CO2 Reduction in a Catholyte‐Free Zero‐Gap Electrolyzer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.
