High Temporal Beta‐Diversity of Pollinators in Early Successional Forests After Windthrow

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2025.
We described the temporal dynamics of vascular plants and pollinating insects by sampling the same windthrow sites after 3 and 5 years from a major storm event in the Italian Alps. Pollinator communities exhibited high temporal β‐diversity, while the understory plant community changed the least.

Low Genetic Diversity and Complex Population Structure in Black Piranha (Serrasalmus rhombeus), a Key Amazonian Predator

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 2, February 2025.
Using a Genotyping‐by‐Sequencing approach across tributaries in the central Amazonia, we found that the black piranha (Serrasalmus rhombeus) exhibits low genetic diversity, pronounced inbreeding, and significant population structure, likely shaped by historical events rather than contemporary factors.

Geodetic Strain Rates and Seismicity Rates Along the Apennines (Italy)

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 2, February 2025.
Abstract The Apennines are a tectonically active belt that has experienced significant earthquakes (Mw> ${ >} $6). The largest events primarily occurred along the chain axis, where a complex system of normal faults accommodates 2–3 mm/yr of SW‐NE oriented extension, as precisely measured by a dense Global Navigation Satellite System network.

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 39, Issue 1, February 2025.
Abstract The Pacific Islands region is home to several of the world's biodiversity hotspots, yet its unique flora and fauna are under threat because of biological invasions. These invasions are likely to proliferate as human activity increases and large‐scale natural disturbances unfold, exacerbated by climate change. Remote sensing data and techniques
