DMS‐MaPseq and DREEM Analyses Implicate the Critical Role of RNA Structural Dynamics in Turnip Yellow Mosaic Virus Pathogenicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RNA structural profiling of Turnip Yellow Mosaic Virus by DMS‐MaPseq and DREEM analyses uncover that viral genome‐wide RSS is highly complicated and heterogeneous, with alternative RSSs widely distributed across the genome. Notably, the viral 3’ tRNA‐like structure adopts alternative conformations in vivo.

Mechanism‐Informed Machine Learning Enables Discovery of Oncolytic Peptides for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
MISPOP integrates ensemble learning with membrane‐active physicochemical priors to identify Dermaseptin‐S9, a natural oncolytic peptide that disrupts tumor membranes, triggers immunogenic cell death, and shows strong antitumor activity. The study illustrates a mechanism‐informed route from peptide sequence data to cancer immunotherapy leads.

Wild Cat Scratch Disease

open access: yes, 2001
Cat scratch disease is a common cause of fever, malaise and lymphadenitis. Neuro-retinitis occurs in less than 1.5 % of these patients and is usually characterized by loss of vision, optic disc edema and exsudates in the retina forming a macular ...

MiR‐940 Suppresses Ferroptosis by Controlling Expression of Key Regulatory Genes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A CRISPR‐based screening identified miR‐940 as a critical suppressor of ferroptosis in cancer. By coordinating the downregulation of pro‐ferroptotic genes with the upregulation of GPX4, miR‐940 establishes a regulatory network that protects against ferroptosis and correlates with poor clinical outcomes in distinct cancer entities.

Cowpox after a cat scratch – case report from Poland

open access: yes, 2015
Cowpox in humans is a rare zoonotic disease; its recognition is therefore problematic due to the lack of clinical experience. The differential diagnosis includes other poxvirus infections and also infections with herpesviruses or selected bacteria.
