Contracting boundaries of CAT(0) spaces [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Topology, 2014
As demonstrated by Croke and Kleiner, the visual boundary of a CAT(0) group is not well-defined since quasi-isometric CAT(0) spaces can have non-homeomorphic boundaries. We introduce a new type of boundary for a CAT(0) space, called the contracting boundary, made up rays satisfying one of five hyperbolic-like properties.

An Intrinsic Characterization of Five Points in a CAT(0) Space

open access: yesAnalysis and Geometry in Metric Spaces, 2020
Gromov (2001) and Sturm (2003) proved that any four points in a CAT(0) space satisfy a certain family of inequalities. We call those inequalities the ⊠-inequalities, following the notation used by Gromov.

Collapsibility of CAT(0) spaces [PDF]

open access: yesGeometriae Dedicata, 2019
27 pages, 3 figures. The part on collapsibility of convex complexes has been removed and forms a new paper, called "Barycentric subdivisions of convexes complex are collapsible" (arXiv:1709.07930). The part on enumeration of manifolds has also been removed and forms now a third paper, called "A Cheeger-type exponential bound for the number of ...

FROM WALL SPACES TO CAT(0) CUBE COMPLEXES [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Algebra and Computation, 2005
We explain how to adapt a construction due to M. Sageev in order to construct a proper action of a group on a CAT(0) cube complex starting from a proper action of the group on a wall space.

The Generalized Implicit Iterative Process for Approximating Fixed Points of Nonexpansive Mappings in CAT(0) Spaces

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The aim of this paper is to investigate implicit viscosity iterative algorithm for nonexpansive mappings in the framework of CAT(0) spaces. We prove strong convergence theorems of such algorithm under some suitable assumptions on the sequences of ...

A modified iteration for total asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in Hadamard spaces

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics, 2021
The motive of this paper is to study the convergence analysis of a modified iteration procedure for total asymptotically nonexpansive mapping under some suitable conditions in the setting of CAT(0) spaces.

Rough CAT(0) Spaces

open access: yes, 2011
We investigate various notions of rough CAT(0). These conditions define classes of spaces that strictly include the union of all Gromov hyperbolic length spaces and all CAT(0) spaces.

The Boundary at Infinity of a Rough CAT(0) Space

open access: yesAnalysis and Geometry in Metric Spaces, 2014
We develop the boundary theory of rough CAT(0) spaces, a class of length spaces that contains both Gromov hyperbolic length spaces and CAT(0) spaces.

CAT(0) spaces of higher rank II

open access: yesInventiones mathematicae, 2023
AbstractThis belongs to a series of papers motivated by Ballmann’s Higher Rank Rigidity Conjecture. We prove the following. Let $X$ X be a CAT(0) space with a geometric group action $\Gamma \curvearrowright X$ Γ ↷ X . Suppose that every geodesic in $
