VY Scl-type cataclysmic variable SDSS J154453.60+255348.8: stellar and disk parameters
Monthly notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2023We present a new study of the eclipsing cataclysmic variable SDSS J154453.60+255348.8 to determine the object’s nature and its system parameters together with the probe of the accretion flow structure in the system.

Intermediate polars are a class of cataclysmic variables in which a white dwarf accretes material from a companion star. The intermediate polar nature confirmation usually derives from the detection of two periods in both X-ray and optical photometry ...

Detection of Eclipses in the Cataclysmic Variable LAMOST J035913.61 + 405035.0
Astronomical Notes - Astronomische NachrichtenI conducted photometric observations of the cataclysmic variable LAMOST J035913.61 + 405035.0 and detected eclipses. During these observations, I recorded 14 eclipses over two groups of nights separated by 13 months.

Three unusual cataclysmic variable stars
Nature, 1983A recent survey for variable objects1 using an automated search procedure detected a number of variables for which it was only possible to give a preliminary classification. Many of the sample have now been observed spectroscopically on a large telescope and definite classifications made.

The study of cataclysmic variables - interacting binary stars containing a white dwarf accreting from an orbiting companion - is undergoing an exciting renaissance, as it embraces observations at all wavelengths. Cataclysmic variables allow, in particular, the direct and detailed study of equilibrium and non-equilibrium accretion discs; in turn these ...

Introduction to Cataclysmic Variable Stars
2016Cataclysmic Variables are semi-detached binaries consisting of a White Dwarf that accretes material from a companion star (usually a Red Dwarf) that transfers matter to the White Dwarf. In this chapter I give a description of cataclysmic variable stars, their composition, classification and spectral characteristics.
