AH Her is a Z Cam-type dwarf nova with an orbital period of ∼0.258 days. Dwarf nova oscillations and long-period dwarf nova oscillations have been detected, but no quasiperiodic oscillations (QPOs) and negative superhumps (NSHs) have been found.

On the evidence for brown-dwarf secondary stars in cataclysmic variables [PDF]
We present the K-band spectrum of the cataclysmic variable LL And, obtained using NIRSPEC on Keck-II. The spectrum shows no evidence for the absorption features observed by Howell & Ciardi (2001), which these authors used to claim a detection of a brown ...

Cataclysmic Variable Stars [PDF]
The evolution of single stars on and away from the main sequence is well understood. A degenerate core is formed in a star as the star leaves the main sequence and expands to a giant with a radius typically 50 - 500 Ro . Observationally it is known that most stars are members of binary systems, and among these many have orbital periods less than 100 y.

DETERMINATION OF SIZE OF THE EMITTING REGION IN ECLIPSING CATACLYSMIC VARIABLE STARS
The dependencies of the phase of eclipse of the white dwarf’s centre and the durations of the ascending and descending branches of the light curve on the binary system’s parameters were computed using the spherically symmetric approximation and the more ...

Optical Studies of Seven Bright Southern Cataclysmic Variable Stars
We report spectroscopic observations of seven bright southern cataclysmic variable stars, collected on a single two-week observing run using the 1.9 m Radcliffe telescope at the South African Astronomical Observatory.

The donor stars of cataclysmic variables [PDF]
Abstract We carefully consider observational and theoretical constraints on the global properties of secondary stars in cataclysmic variable stars (CVs). We then use these constraints to construct and test a complete, semi-empirical donor sequence for CVs with orbital periods Porb≤ 6 h.

System parameters of three short-period cataclysmic variable stars [PDF]
ABSTRACT Using photometric ULTRACAM observations of three new short-period cataclysmic variables (CVs), we model the primary eclipse light curves to extract the orbital separation, masses, and radii of their component stars. We find donor masses of $0.060\pm 0.008\, {\rm M_\odot }$, $0.042\pm 0.001\, {\rm M_\odot }$, and $0.042\pm 0.004\,

CCD Photometry Using Multiple Comparison Stars [PDF]
The accuracy of CCD observations obtained at the Korean 1.8 m telescope has been studied. Seventeen comparison stars in the vicinity of the cataclysmic variable BG CMi have been measured.

”ASYMPTOTIC PARABOLA” FITS FOR SMOOTHING GENERALLY ASYMMETRIC LIGHT CURVES
A computer program is introduced, which allows to determine statistically optimal approximation using the "Asymptotic Parabola" fit, or, in other words, the spline consisting of polynomials of order 1,2,1, or two lines ("asymptotes") connected with a ...
