X-ray emission from cataclysmic variables

Space Science Reviews, 1985
EXOSAT results on cataclysmic variables are reviewed. The long continuous X-ray observations afforded by this observatory, coupled with the sensitivity of its instruments to medium energy and very low energy X-rays, have enabled the rotational and orbital X-ray light curves of these stars to be measured in unprecedented detail.

The Cataclysmic Variable GD552

1985
Time-resolved spectroscopic observations of the proper motion star GD552 were made at Lick Observatory using the image-tube scanner of the Shane 120-inch telescope. Radial velocity variations were measured for the HP emission line. No velocity variations were detected, with an upper limit of 35 kilometers per second on the semi-amplitude of the K ...

Cataclysmic Variables — Selected Problems

1992
Two hitherto neglected features of cataclysmic variables are discussed: (1) dependence of cycle-length on orbital period and brightness amplitude in dwarf novae eruptions and (2) the dip in the descending branch of superout-burst light-curves of WZ Sagittae stars.
