Application of Catalan Numbers and the Lattice Path Combinatorial Problem in Cryptography

open access: yesActa Polytechnica Hungarica, 2018
: This paper analyzes the properties of Catalan numbers and their relation to the Lattice Path combinatorial problem in cryptography. Specifically, analyzes the application of the appropriate combinatorial problem based on Catalan-key in encryption and ...

Catalan structures and Catalan pairs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
A Catalan pair is a pair of binary relations (S,R) satisfying certain axioms. These objects are enumerated by the well-known Catalan numbers, and have been introduced with the aim of giving a common language to most of the structures counted by Catalan numbers.

Raney and Catalan

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 2008
AbstractRaney’s lemma is often used in a counting argument to prove the formula for (generalized) Catalan numbers. It ensures the existence of “good” cyclic shifts of certain sequences, i.e. cyclic shifts for which all partial sums are positive. We introduce a simple algorithm that finds these cyclic shifts and also those with a slightly weaker property.

SPANISH IN CATALONIA (Conditional Languages and exalted nationalism)

open access: yesИбероамериканские тетради, 2016
For the last decades the coexistence of Spanish and Catalan has experienced an identity crisis, a clash between the languages that is not apparent in other ambilingual territories or other Catalan-speaking regions. This paper will show the reasons behind

Catalan Tree & Parity of some sequences which are related to Catalan numbers [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
In this paper we determine the parity of some sequences which are related to Catalan numbers. Also we introduce a combinatorical object called, \Catalan tree", and discuss its properties.

Catalan triangles and tied arc diagrams [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The Catalan triangle, as well as a Fuss-Catalan triangle, enter a problem of counting particular tied arc diagrams. This setting allows us to prove some combinatorial properties of these triangles.
