Evaluation of enzymatic pretreatment strategies to enhance anaerobic digestion of tomato waste

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Tomato residues are a form of solid waste that can be converted into methane through anaerobic digestion (AD). However, methane production is often limited due to incomplete hydrolysis caused by the high lignocellulosic content of tomato waste.

Palladium‐Catalyzed Telomerization of Isoprene with Amines: Ligands and Solvents Working Together to Improve the Selectivity

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Palladium‐catalyzed telomerization of isoprene with diethylamine using non‐protic solvents and phosphite ligands with large cone angle afforded telomer 3 (T–T) in up to 90% yield and 90% selectivity. Phosphite ligands with small cone angle provided telomer 4 (H‐T) with selectivity of 43% (80% yield) and 48% (23% yield) with iPr2NH.

Photoswitching of the Two‐Photon Absorption of Donor‐Acceptor Substituted Dithienylethenes

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
Switching two‐photon absorption: Donor‐acceptor substituted dithienylethenes are shown to switch their two‐photon absorption properties upon light‐induced electrocyclic isomerization. In this work the structural and electronic integration of push–pull systems with photoactivatable dithienylethenes (DTEs) is demonstrated.

Shortcut to Highly Fluorescent Perylene Derivatives: From Fluoranthene Fissure‐Coupling to Late‐Stage Aromatic Extension

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
A two‐step shortcut for access to highly soluble, bent, and extended perylene‐based nanographene P1 from a nonperylene aromatic homologation precursor is presented. The modular, stepwise, and rational π‐extension postfunctionalization strategy allows for the tuning of the fluorescent emission properties to reach high quantum yields up to 0.78, giving ...
