Chemical and Catalytic Properties of Ozone
Catalysis Reviews, 2000Ozone is a unique species whose chemistry has a profound impact in many areas of our society. It is well known as a beneficial constituent of the upper atmosphere which shields living organisms fro...

The effectiveness of the catalytic ozonation process (COP) with a GAC catalyst was assessed based on the degradation and COD removal of phenol from the saline wastewater, as compared with the single ozonation process (SOP). The COP attained a much higher level of phenol degradation compared to the SOP.

Catalytic Ozonation over Activated Carbon-based Materials
2022This chapter summarizes the recent advances of activated carbon, biochar and their supported metal oxides. The focuses are on how to distinguish whether the role of AC in the pollutant degradation by AC catalytic ozonation is adsorption or catalysis, the latest results of activated carbon- and biochar-supported metal oxides and the problem that needs ...

Decolorization of AZO dyes using catalytic ozonation
Reaction Kinetics and Catalysis Letters, 2007Decolorization of C.I. Reactive Red 2 (RR2) and C.I. Acid Orange 6 (AO6) using a catalytic ozonation system was evaluated. The decolorization rates for RR2 and AO6 were accelerated by at least 30% by adding MnO2 to the O3 system; additionally, the decolorization rate increased as the MnO2 dosage and ozone power consumption increased.

Catalytic Filtration of Ozone in Airborne Application
Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1962Studies were undertaken to determine a practical method of reducing the ozone content of cabin intake air typical of high-altitude, high-speed aircraft. To make use of the aircraft ram air temperature rise, catalytic filters were investigated for purposes of ozone destruction.

Heterogeneous Catalytic Ozonation of Aqueous Reactive Dye
Ozone: Science & Engineering, 2005The aqueous solution of a model reactive dye, C.I. Reactive Blue 5, was ozonated in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst, CuS. It was found that CuS was very effective for catalyzing the decolorization so that both treatment time and ozone consumption were significantly reduced.

Ozone and heavy metals from automobile catalytic converters
Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 1997The introduction of the 3-way catalytic converter is presently being acclaimed by different sources in Germany as the solution to the ozone problem. This hypothesis is viewed with scepticism: studies conducted in the USA, where the 3-way catalytic converter was introduced as early as 1975, show that the ozone problem has not been resolved by any means ...

Catalytic ozonation of alkylnaphthalenes in acetic acid
Kinetics and Catalysis, 2012The oxidation of alkylnaphthalenes with ozone in acetic acid in the presence of cobalt(II) acetate is reported. Under the catalytic conditions, the ozonolysis of the aromatic system can be prevented to a considerable extent and the reaction can be directed toward the oxidation of the alkyl group.
