Halide Perovskite Integrated Photovoltaic Cathodes Incorporating Pt on ZIF‐8‐Derived Carbon for Solar Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A low‐Pt catalyst supported on zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF‐8)‐derived porous carbon and graphite is integrated with a halide perovskite photovoltaic, yielding cathodes that achieve a high photocurrent density (∼20 mA cm−2) under simulated sunlight and exhibit remarkable stability in acidic media over several days, thereby demonstrating a ...

Enhancing nanoplastics removal by metal ion-catalyzed ozonation

open access: yesChemical Engineering Journal Advances
Nanoplastics (NPs), characterized by sizes < 1 µm, are not completely removed in conventional drinking water treatment plants affecting human health. Catalytic ozonation appears as a promising alternative due to its ability to oxidize emerging pollutants

Catalytic destruction of stratospheric ozone [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, 1997
This paper presents a review of the main ozone destroying catalytic cycles operating in the stratosphere. Particular attention is paid to the kinetic aspects of these cycles such as the rate limiting step and chain length. Although it is an important kinetic parameter, the chain length of the various cycles is seldom considered when the various ...

Bridging Polymer Brushes and Coatings Through Ultra‐Thick Growth by Surface‐Initiated Photoiniferter Polymerization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Surface‐initiated photoiniferter‐mediated polymerization (SI‐PIMP) enables the controlled growth of UHMW polymer brushes with multi‐micrometer thicknesses, bridging conventional brushes and bulk‐like coatings. UHMW brushes are synthesized through a controlled/living process; they provide low friction and enhanced wear resistance under aqueous ...

Water Permeates and Plasticizes Amorphous Carbon Dots: Unraveling the Inner Accessibility of the Nanoparticles by Glass Transition Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.
