The Effect of Fishermen's Quotas on Expected Catch Rates [PDF]

open access: yes
Fishermen's quotas have the effect of truncating catches at the quota limit. Hence the expected catch is smaller than the quota. A simple search model is developed that provides an estimation of the factor by which expected catches are reduced ...

Compositionally Engineered Carboxymethyl Cellulose‐Based Optical Fibers With Exceptionally Low Optical Loss and Quantitative Humidity Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Carboxymethyl cellulose‐based biopolymer optical fibers are fabricated using aqueous wet spinning. The fibers exhibit record‐low optical attenuation in polysaccharide‐based waveguides while maintaining efficient transmission across the visible‐to‐near‐infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Revisiting paravertebral muscles in European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) and European brown hares (Lepus europaeus) (Leporidae; Lagomorpha)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Domesticated European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) have long been chosen as laboratory model organisms. Despite this, there has been no definitive study of the vertebral musculature of wild rabbits.
