The Effect of Using Trammel in Red Mullet Species Fishing Nets on Catch Efficiency and By-catch

open access: yesThalassas: An International Journal of Marine Sciences
Abstract This study was conducted to determine the effect of using trammel in nets on catch efficiency and bycatch used by small-scale fishermen for catching red mullet species ( Mullus barbatus, Mullus surmuletus , Linnaeus 1758). Within the scope of the study, a total of 28 trials

Muscle Control of an Extra Robotic Digit

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This study compares muscle‐ and movement‐based control for operating a supernumerary robotic thumb. While movement control performs better in the proposed tasks, muscle‐based (EMG) control promotes broader motor learning. The results highlight the promise and challenges of using biosignals for human augmentation, offering new insights into intuitive ...

Understanding and Designing Phase Change Materials: Insights From Atom Probe Tomography

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Atom probe tomography can distinguish metallic, covalent, and metavalent bonds based upon their bond rupture; in particular, the probability to form more than one ion (PME) in laser‐assisted field evaporation. These findings open new avenues in understanding and designing phase change materials (PCMs) since they allow quantification of bonds in solids ...

Beyond Traditional Phenolics: Disulfide Bonds for Performance Enhancement of Aerospace Ablation‐Resistant Materials from Processing to Recycling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The dynamic disulfide bonds facilitated the development of high‐performance aerospace ablation‐resistant materials. At moderate temperature, the dissociation and recombination of disulfide bonds ensured excellent processability, mechanical properties, and recycling ability of phenolic resin; at high temperature, cleavage of disulfide bonds produced ...

A Research on the Fish Production and Catching Efficiency in the Keban Dam Lake

open access: yesJournal of Animal and Veterinary Advances, 2010
The study was carried out in 16 different regions of Keban Dam Lake (in Turkey) between 2002 and 2008. The data were taken from cooperative chairmen and members who carried out fisheries activities at the end of fishing season. The amounts of produced fish were evaluated according to fishing season, fisheries place and fish species.

Reversible Exfoliation‐Aggregation Dynamics in Ionic COFs for Tunable Interfacial Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A unique ionic covalent organic framework (I‐4) exhibits unprecedented concentration‐dependent dynamic behavior in water, undergoing reversible transitions between aggregation and exfoliation. This enables fully controllable, bidirectional modulation of its particle size and surface micro‐environment.
