El absentismo del profesorado en la Universidad de Salamanca de la pre-Ilustración (1700-1750)

open access: yesStudia Historica: Historia Moderna, 2009
Es conocido que el absentismo de los catedráticos afectó notoriamente a las universidades españolas del Barroco y la Ilustración. En el abandono de las cátedras por parte del profesorado, confluyen varias causas explicativas que dibujan una docencia ...

Gate‐Induced Critical Current Modulation in W–C Nanowires: The Role of Fabrication

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Focused ion beam induced deposition (FIBID) enables precise control of superconducting W–C nanowire devices. Introducing a Ga+ focused ion beam (FIB) cleaning step reduces substrate damage and suppresses leakage currents, shifting gating thresholds to higher voltages.

‘What's the Essence of This Profession?’ Spanish Teacher Educators' Post‐Pandemic Conceptualizations of Work, Pre‐Service Teachers and Emotions

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Education, Volume 61, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper reports on an interpretive phenomenological study that examined the lived experiences of teacher educators in Spain. Responding to a lack of research on teacher educators, the study sought to make sense of the participants' work in the current, post‐pandemic context.

Past and Future Shifts in Marine Species Distributions Across Two South American Large Marine Ecosystems

open access: yesJournal of Biogeography, Volume 53, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To quantify temporal (Middle Holocene, historical and future) and spatial changes in habitat suitability for marine species in two South American Large Marine Ecosystems, and to evaluate the ecological consistency of long‐term Species Distribution Model projections using archaeological records as independent evidence of past species ...

Bataspis crux, a galeaspid (jawless stem gnathostome) from the Lochkovian of Yunnan with a batwing‐shaped head adapted for hydrodynamic efficiency

open access: yesPalaeontology, Volume 69, Issue 4, July/August 2026.
Abstract Galeaspids are an extinct group of jawless fishes from the Silurian–Devonian of China and northern Vietnam that are key to understanding the origin of vertebrate anatomical innovations. A new eugaleaspid, Bataspis crux gen. et. sp. nov., is described based on fossil material from the Lochkovian (Early Devonian) Xishancun Formation of Qujing ...

Liquid‐Phase Fabrication of Janus 2D Materials: Defect‐Rich MoS2 Ultrathin Layers Asymmetrically Decorated with Au Nanoparticles

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
This work presents a versatile strategy for asymmetrically decorating MoS2 flakes using SiO2 microspheres as masking templates. The Janus MoS2 exhibits a 1.9‐fold enhancement in photoluminescence (PL) due to the incorporation of Au nanoparticles (NPs), primarily dominated by B exciton emission, which is attributed to defect‐rich structures.

An In Situ Study of the Topochemical Transformation of Hybrid Layered Hydroxides Into Metallic Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 10, 2 February 2026.
Herein, the topochemical transformation of cobalt‐based layered hydroxides into nanocomposites is investigated using advanced real‐time characterization techniques combined with thermogravimetric analysis. The study reveals how interlayer carboxylic acids direct the transformation pathway, highlighting the role of carbon content and anion length. These

Whipped and Mixed Warm Clouds in the Deep Sea

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 2, 28 January 2026.
Abstract Turbulence is indispensable to redistribute nutrients for all life forms larger than microbial, on land and in the ocean. Yet, the development of deep‐sea turbulence was not studied in three dimensions to date. As a disproportionate laboratory, an array of nearly 3,000 high‐resolution temperature sensors had been installed for three years on ...
