Bicommutant categories from fusion categories [PDF]
Bicommutant categories are higher categorical analogs of von Neumann algebras that were recently introduced by the first author. In this article, we prove that every unitary fusion category gives an example of a bicommutant category. This theorem categorifies the well known result according to which a finite dimensional *-algebra that can be faithfully

Bear management changes management actions according to the horizontal axis of the population size and the vertical axis of the number of nuisance bears. Aiming for the target population size of Ntar, Actions I and II protect the bears, and Action IV reduces the population.

The word “archive” doesn’t belong to archivists or to historians any more, and this has been the case for quite a while now. The archive left a confined and hushed area to be shared on the web space.

Evolutionary interplay between viruses and R‐loops
Viruses interact with specialized nucleic acid structures called R‐loops to influence host transcription, epigenetic states, latency, and immune evasion. This Perspective examines the roles of R‐loops in viral replication, integration, and silencing, and how viruses co‐opt or avoid these structures.

Phonetic category recalibration: What are the categories? [PDF]
Listeners use lexical or visual context information to recalibrate auditory speech perception. After hearing an ambiguous auditory stimulus between /aba/ and /ada/ coupled with a clear visual stimulus (e.g., lip closure in /aba/), an ambiguous auditory-only stimulus is perceived in line with the previously seen visual stimulus.

The Gorenstein defect category [PDF]
We consider the homotopy category of complexes of projective modules over a Noetherian ring. Truncation at degree zero induces a fully faithful triangle functor from the totally acyclic complexes to the stable derived category.

Circulating histones as clinical biomarkers in critically ill conditions
Circulating histones are emerging as promising biomarkers in critical illness due to their diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic potential. Detection methods such as ELISA and mass spectrometry provide reliable approaches for quantifying histone levels in plasma samples.

L.S.-category in a model category
The notion of category was introduced by \textit{L. Lusternik} and \textit{I. Schnirelmann} [Méthodes topologiques dans les problèmes variationnels (1934; Zbl 0011.02803)] to study the stationary points of functions on a manifold. For a path-connected, normal and categorically well based space, \(X\), the LS-category can be defined by two equivalent ...
