Abstract This study was conducted to gain a better understanding of the effect of exposure to the myxozoan Henneguya ictaluri (the agent of proliferative gill disease [PGD]) on host physiology by measuring the variation in selected blood characteristics in three differently affected host taxa (channel catfish Ictalurus punctatus, blue ...

NEUTRALIZATION OF CHANNEL CATFISH VIRUS BY SERUM OF CHANNEL CATFISH
Journal of Wildlife Diseases, 1973Sera from 71 adult channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus), with a history of channel catfish virus (CCV) association, were assayed for CCV neutralization activity. Sixty-seven serum samples had positive CCV neutralization indices. Sera from 10 fish with no known history of CCV exposure, showed no evidence of virus neutralization activity. Viable CCV was

Abstract The present study was designed to determine the optimal level of calcium hardness in hatching waters to incubate channel catfish Ictalurus punctatus × blue catfish I. furcatus hybrid catfish eggs. Hatching success of hybrid catfish eggs was higher (P < 0.05) at a calcium hardness (CaCO3) of 75 mg/L in hatching waters than

Somatostatins of the Channel Catfish
1985Pancreatic tissue of the channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus) contains two somatostatins. The amino acid sequence of a 14-residue containing peptide (SS-14) is identical in sequence and has the same mass ion by fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry as mammalian SS-14.

Responses of Blue Catfish and Channel Catfish to Environmental Nitrite
Journal of Aquatic Animal Health, 1995Abstract In nitrite-exposure experiments, percent methemoglobin, plasma nitrite concentration, and plasma chloride ion concentration were compared between channel catfish Ictalurus punctatus and blue catfish I. furcatus exposed to sublethal levels of nitrite for 48 h at 25°C.

CULTIVATION OF CATFISH WITH BIOFLOK METHOD ON CONVENTIONAL CATFISH FARMERS
2022Catfish farming training was carried out by catfish farmers in Meurandeh village. This training aims to increase catfish production by using the biofloc method. Catfish farming with a biofloc system is a system for raising catfish in a different way than usual, namely by growing micro-organisms whose function is to process waste from the cultivation ...
