Biodegradable Acoustic Targeting for Ultrasound‐Supported Gene Therapy (BATUS) in Glioblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Glioblastoma (GBM) remains one of the most challenging brain malignancies due to the restrictive nature of the blood–brain barrier (BBB), which severely limits effective drug and gene delivery. To overcome this, we introduce Biodegradable Acoustic Targeting for Ultrasound‐Supported Gene Therapy (BATUS), a modular platform that enables safe ...

Efficacy and Safety of Catheter Ablation in Very Elderly Patients With Atrial Fibrillation: Short‐ To Mid‐Term Outcomes From a Multicenter Study

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia
Background Catheter ablation has become a cornerstone of atrial fibrillation (AF) treatment. The prevalence of AF increases with age. However, research on catheter ablation in very elderly patients (age ≥ 80 years) is limited.

Circulating mitochondrial cell-free DNA levels are associated with the recurrence of atrial fibrillation after catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation

open access: yesAmerican Heart Journal Plus
Background: Although catheter ablation, including pulmonary vein isolation, is the primary nonpharmacological therapy for atrial fibrillation (AF), atrial arrhythmia often recurs.

Calcineurin‐Dependent Stress Adaptation Enables Caspofungin Heteroresistance Leading to Stable Resistance in Candida Glabrata

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Caspofungin heteroresistance is prevalent in clinical Candida glabrata isolates and depends on calcineurin‐mediated stress adaptation. This transient phenotype serves as a reservoir for resistance evolution, enabling the emergence of stable resistant descendants under prolonged drug pressure.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is associated with higher recurrence rates of atrial fibrillation following catheter ablation

open access: yesIndian Pacing and Electrophysiology Journal
Background: Patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are at increased risk of cardiovascular mortality compared to patients with AF alone.

LRG1 Drives Pathological Angiogenesis by Disrupting Neutrophil Mitochondrial Homeostasis in Bladder Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In bladder cancer, LRG1 binds to ANXA2 to trigger mitochondrial ROS‐dependent NETosis. This pathogenic cascade actively uncouples endothelial‐mural cell interactions, driving profound vascular destabilization. Consequently, targeting the LRG1‐ANXA2 axis attenuates the neutrophil burden and induces structural vascular normalization, offering a powerful ...

Polydopamine Nanoparticle‐Mediated Precise Near‐Infrared Optical Stimulation for Cognitive Enhancement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polydopamine nanoparticles enable a precise, non‐genetic, and transcranial neuromodulation strategy via near‐infrared photothermal stimulation. By activating TRPV1 channels, this approach specifically enhances hippocampal gamma oscillations, thereby rescuing spatial memory deficits in models of perioperative neurocognitive disorder.

A Dual‐Modal Wearable PPG Smartwatch with AI‐Enhanced Correction for High‐Accuracy and Continuous AF Burden Assessment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Atrial fibrillation (AF) increases the risk of stroke and heart failure, yet accurate quantification of AF burden in daily life remains difficult. Although smartwatch photoplethysmography (PPG) supports continuous monitoring, complex rhythms and signal noise can impair burden estimation.
