Boride Cathodes

Journal of Applied Physics, 1950
The thermionic emission properties of the borides of the alkaline-earth and rare-earth metals and thorium have been investigated. These compounds all have the same formula MB6 and the same crystal structure consisting of a three-dimensional boron framework in whose interlattice spaces the metal atoms are embedded.

Cathodes for IT-SOFCs

2016
The cathode in SOFCs is the location where oxygen is catalytically reduced to oxygen ions, which plays a key role in converting chemical energy into electrical energy. The sluggish oxygen reduction activity of cathodes at reduced temperatures, i.e., intermediate temperatures, is one of the critical obstacles to achieving IT-SOFCs with high performance.

On the magnetron cathode

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1986
The special characters of the magnetron cathode are discussed. Relations between anode and back bombardment currents, and thermal and secondary electrons are analyzed in detail. Within certain ranges, the above parameters can mutually readjust among themselves to guarantee good performance of the magnetron, while out of these ranges, instabilities and ...
