Cathodic and Anodic Stress Corrosion Cracking of a New High-Strength CrNiMnMoN Austenitic Stainless Steel

open access: yesMetals, 2020
A new high-nitrogen austenitic stainless steel with excellent mechanical properties was tested for its resistance to stress corrosion cracking. The new conventional produced hybrid CrNiMnMoN stainless steel combines the excellent mechanical properties of

An Empirical Model of the Kinetics of Hydrogen-Induced Cracking in API 5L Steel: Part 1

open access: yesHydrogen
An empirical model of the kinetics of Hydrogen-Induced Cracking (HIC) in API 5L steels was derived using the best-fit equation for experimental data obtained from cathodic charging tests.

Evaluating hydrogenated nickel-titanium alloy for orthopedic implant

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2022
Nickel-titanium (NiTi) alloys are widely used in orthopedic implants for their good biocompatibility and mechanical properties. They are also applied for hydrogen storage capacity in energy application.

Analysis of hydrogen thermal desorption behavior of Ni-Ti superelastic alloy hydrogen-charged by cathodic charging and immersion testing

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2017
We investigated differences in the hydrogen thermal desorption mechanism for Ni-Ti superelastic alloys following hydrogen charging by cathodic charging in a 0.9% NaCl aqueous solution and by immersion testing in a 0.2% APF aqueous solution.

Charge Compensation Mechanisms in Ni‐Rich NMC Cathodes

open access: yesBatteries & Supercaps
Understanding charge compensation mechanisms in nickel‐rich lithium nickel–manganese–cobalt alloy oxide (NMC) cathodes is crucial for optimizing their electrochemical performance. This study employs complementary spectroscopic techniques with varying probing depths, including X‐ray absorption near‐edge structure spectroscopy, hard ...

The Effect of Cold Rolling on the Hydrogen Susceptibility of 5083 Aluminum Alloy

open access: yesMetals, 2017
This work focuses in investigating the effect of cold deformation on the cathodic hydrogen charging of 5083 aluminum alloy. The aluminium alloy was submitted to a cold rolling process, until the average thickness of the specimens was reduced by 7% and 15%

Influence of Current Density on the Microstructure of Carbon-Based Cathode Materials during Aluminum Electrolysis

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Sodium expansion plays an important role in cathode deterioration during aluminum electrolysis. In this work, the sodium expansion of semigraphitic cathode material has been measured at various cathodic current densities using a modified Rapoport ...

Charge diffusion in the capacitive readout of resistive cathodes [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1989
Abstract A quantitative description is given for the charge flow on a resistive cathode. The emphasis is on the implications on pad readout of large calorimeters equipped with plastic streamer tubes. Measurements are presented which give support to the theory, and also reveal details of the internal construction of the streamer tubes.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Charge transport phenomena in thin-film cathodes

open access: yesSolid State Ionics, 1992
Abstract The OCV, chemical diffusion coefficient and thermodynamic enhancement factor has been determined as a function of lithium content in MOCVD TiS 2 films. The films were deposited in a cold-wall reactor at 7.5 mbar, 207 and 250°C, and a feed gas composition of 0.25 vol% TiCl 4 and 1.4 vol% hexamethyldisilathiane.
