Hollow cathode effects in charge development processes in transient hollow cathode discharges
IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 1995A detailed experimental study of space charge formation and ionization growth in transient hollow cathode discharges (THCD) is presented. The experiment was performed with an applied step voltage up to 30 kV, with rise time less than 50 ns. The discharge was operated in different gases, at pressures in the range 50-750 mTorr, with cathode apertures ...

Cathodic disbonding of paint films-transport of charge
Corrosion Science, 1993Abstract Cathodic disbonding and charge transport through paint films were studied as a function of polarization potential, temperature, dry-film thickness and cation type in the electrolyte. It was found that both the disbonding rate and the charge transport were linearly related to the polarization potential.

The hydrogen content of austenite after cathodic charging
Scripta Metallurgica, 1981Abstract We have made direct measurements of deuterium concentration profiles and have shown that the concentration of hydrogen (deuterium) in the near-surface layers of 310 austenitic steel following room-temperature cathodic charging in poisoned electrolytes is 0.5 to 0.8 hydrogen atoms per metal atom.

Cathodic hydrogen charging and mechanical properties of copper
Journal of Materials Science, 1994The influence of cathodic hydrogen charging on some mechanical properties of copper was studied. Hydrogen charging was found to decrease both the ultimate tensile strength and the failure strain of copper. The surface layers of copper were hardened, but they recovered to their prior hardness with time passed after hydrogen charging.

Resolving Charge Distribution for Compositionally Heterogeneous Battery Cathode Materials
Nano Letters, 2022The isostructural nature of Li-layered cathodes allows for accommodating multiple transition metals (TMs). However, little is known about how the local TM stoichiometry influences the charging behavior of battery particles thus impacting battery performance. Here, we develop heterogeneous compositional distributions in polycrystalline LiNi1-x-yMnxCoyO2

Charge Storage in Cathode-Ray Tubes
Proceedings of the IRE, 1951The charging process in cathode-ray tubes used for static storage of information is analyzed for both a stationary spot and a linear scan, with and without redistribution of secondary electrons. Approximate equations are derived for the surface potentials and charging current as functions of time and other parameters, such as primary beam current ...

Distribution of Cathode Charge in a Multiwire Proportional Chamber
IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1984Detailed measurements have been made of the lateral distribution of induced charge on wire cathodes in a multiwire proportional chamber. The results are in close agreement with the predictions of a theoretical model in which the effect of ground planes behind the cathodes, avalanche angular localisation, and signal processing are included.

Entropy-Tailored Fast-Charging Sodium Layered Cathodes
Journal of the American Chemical SocietyO3-type layered transition metal (TM) oxides are widely used as cathode materials for Na-ion batteries due to their high energy density potential, enabled by the state of charge (SoC)-dependent transition from octahedral (O-type) to prismatic (P-type) structures during Na-ion (de)sodiation.

Effect of cathodic charging on the mechanical properties of aluminum
Metallurgical Transactions A, 1988The effects of cathodically charged hydrogen on the mechanical properties of pure aluminum have been studied through the use of tensile and microhardness tests. The effects have been further examined with TEM observations of the microstructural changes that accompanied the charging.
