Self-Powered Flexible Multicolor Electrochromic Devices for Information Displays

open access: yesResearch, 2023
The development of self-powered flexible multicolor electrochromic (EC) systems that could switch different color without an external power supply has remained extremely challenging. Here, a new trilayer film structure for achieving self-powered flexible

The Influence of Hydrogen-Charging Current Density and Temperature on Hydrogen Permeation and Hydrogen Embrittlement Susceptibility of 4130X Steel. [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials (Basel)
Chromium-molybdenum steels are extensively used in manufacturing large-volume seamless hydrogen storage vessels, but they still suffer from the hydrogen embrittlement problem.

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

Investigating the Fatigue Response of Cathodically Charged Cold-Finished Mild Steel to Varied Hydrogen Concentrations

open access: yesCorrosion and Materials Degradation
This study investigates the fatigue behavior of cold-finished mild steel subjected to electrochemical hydrogen charging under controlled conditions. Samples were subjected to hydrogen charging at constant time in a fixed electrolyte pH, after which the ...

RAYLEIGH WAVE STUDIES OF CATHODIC H-CHARGING OF Fe

open access: yes, 1981
The attenuation of 2-6 MHz Rayleigh waves /RW/ was measured in sheet samples of Fe which were undergoing electrolytic charging with H. The cathodic polarization and As2O3 addition into electrolyte were found to effect the attenuation and velocity of the ...

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Evaluating the Hydrogen Embrittlement Resistance of Nickel-Based Coatings as Diffusion Barriers for Carbon Steels

open access: yesHydrogen
This study evaluates the hydrogen embrittlement (HE) resistance of nickel-based electroplated coatings applied on cold-finished mild steel, with emphasis on their performance as diffusion barriers to impede hydrogen ingress.

The effect of cathodic hydrogen charging of substoichiometric ni \u3c inf\u3e 3 Al on auger electron spectroscopy measured intergranular boron segregation

open access: yes, 1990
A cathodic hydrogen charging procedure is described which allows intergranular fracture in boron-doped Ni 3 A1 samples which are normally ductile and do not fracture intergranularly.

Combined Kelvin probe force microscopy and secondary ion mass spectrometry for hydrogen detection in corroded 2024 aluminium alloy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The capability of Kelvin probe force microscopy (KFM) to detect and locate hydrogen in corroded 2024 aluminium alloy was demonstrated. Hydrogen was introduced inside the 2024 alloy following a cyclic corrosion test consisting of cycles of immersion in 1 ...

Polarizable Vanadium Dipoles Promote Water Dissociation on Vanadium‐Based Metal Organic Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The polarization of unpaired V 3d electrons weakens the H─O bond to improve water dissociation by the dual Vδ+:O─H and Pλ−:H─O coupling hydrogen bonds formation and relaxation. P@V‐MOF electrocatalyst shows low overpotentials (94 mV in acid, 178 mV in neutral, and 77 mV in alkaline solutions) with excellent stability for effective overall water ...
