Economic Aspects of Cathodic Protection
The corrosion bill for metals in the United States amounts to more than 5½ billions of dollars each year. Cathodic protection measures could eliminate probably over a billion dollars worth of this corrosion. For pipelines, corrosion costs annually from 2 to 5 percent of the original investment.
