Selenium biofortification of pea (Pisum sativum L.) microgreens through seed priming: Effects on agronomic performance and nutritional quality

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND Selenium (Se) deficiency is a widespread nutritional problem. Agronomic biofortification of microgreens through seed nutripriming is a promising approach to enhance Se intake. Microgreens, comprising nutrient‐dense foods that can be produced year‐round, are ideal targets for biofortification and may help alleviate malnutrition. This

Polypharmacy in HIV: Rethinking what counts and why it matters

open access: yesHIV Medicine, Volume 27, Issue 2, Page 186-199, February 2026.
Abstract Polypharmacy, the concurrent use of multiple medications, presents a growing challenge in HIV care as people living with HIV age and experience earlier onset of age‐related co‐morbidities. However, how polypharmacy is defined and assessed in HIV research remains inconsistent.

Assessing wildfire dynamics during a megafire in Portugal using the MesoNH/ForeFire coupled model

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, Volume 152, Issue 775, January 2026 Part B.
Weather conditions affect megafires by inducing different fire behaviors over several days or weeks. The coupled MesoNH/ForeFire code was used to represent the dynamics of fire generating pyro‐convective clouds. To advance the understanding of wildfire dynamics, high‐resolution coupled fire–atmosphere modeling was employed.

Atmospheric Rivers in the Iberian Peninsula: Connection With Extratropical Fronts and Precipitation

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 130, Issue 21, 16 November 2025.
Abstract Precipitation over the Iberian Peninsula (IP) is highly sensitive to atmospheric rivers (ARs)—long corridors of anomalous horizontal and poleward moisture transport from lower latitudes. This study aims to deepen the understanding of the mechanisms behind Iberian ARs and to quantify their contribution to precipitation over a long‐term period ...

Exploring the Potential of Thiazolo[5,4‐c]Isoquinoline Derivatives as Dihydrofolate Reductase Inhibitors: Insights from Molecular Docking and Experimental Studies for Antibacterial Therapy

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 10, Issue 42, November 10, 2025.
A library of thiazolo[5,4‐c]isoquinoline (TzIQ) derivatives, including both neutral molecules and their corresponding cationic forms, was investigated. DHFR was predicted as potential target of those derivatives by a CADD approach. The most promising derivatives were predicted with molecular docking studies.
