Motion correction in CBCT imaging using gate-less model-based reconstruction of non-rigid motion and images. [PDF]

open access: yesMed Phys
Abstract Background Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) plays a crucial role in verifying patient positioning during radiotherapy. However, CBCT images are often blurred by motion originating from breathing, bowel motion, and/or repositioning. Conventional methods often employ gating techniques to mitigate motion artifacts by assuming periodicity ...

Lysosomal peptidases-intriguing roles in cancer progression and neurodegeneration. [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, 2022
Lysosomal peptidases participate in various processes, which may regulate either cancer progression or neurodegeneration. Lysosomal peptidases are hydrolytic enzymes capable of digesting waste proteins that are targeted to lysosomes via endocytosis and autophagy.

Deciphering the Hantavirus Host Range Combining Virology and Species Distribution Models with an Emphasis on the Yellow Pygmy Rice Rat (Oligoryzomys flavescens)

open access: yesTransboundary and Emerging Diseases, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
Hantaviruses are the causative agents of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS) in the Americas. In Central and South America, 28 hantavirus lineages were associated with different Sigmodontinae rodents. Of these, Lechiguanas hantavirus was initially described as a lineage associated with HPS cases in the central region of Argentina.

Radio Refractivity Impact on Signal Strength of Mobile Communication

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
This research investigated radio refractivity impact on signal strength of mobile communication. The mobile communication signal strengths of two popular networks in Nigeria, 9Mobile and MTN, were considered. In the 2100 MHz‐3 G band, 9Mobile transmits in the downlink spectrum of 2130.00–2140.00 MHz, while MTN transmits in the downlink spectrum of 2110.
