This paper presents an investigation of CO2 injection well damage evolution considering different injection temperatures and the presence of a pre‐existing defect. The main outcome is that the accurate prediction of well leakage risk requires characteristics such as initial defects to be understood and represented in any modeling efforts. Abstract This

On new stability estimations in Ramachandran–Rao characterization
B. Ramachandran and C.R. Rao have proved that if X, X1, X2, . . ., Xn are i.i.d. random variables and if distributions of sample mean \bar X = \bar X(n) = (X1 + ··· + Xn)/n and monomial X are coincident at least at two points n = j1 and n = j2 such that ...

Cauchy representation of distributions and applications to probability [PDF]
The Cauchy representation is not valid for every Schwartz distribution f ∈ (D(R))′ because (t – x)−l ∉ D(R). Since for all z ∈ {z: Im z ≠ 0} the kernel (t – z)−l belongs to (R) (1 > p > ∞), the Cauchy representation of the distributions in ((R))′ seems possible.In this paper, we prove this fact.

Study on fracture parameter calibration and failure characteristics of rock with hole and crack
The SIF and plastic zone equations for a single hole and crack have been derived. The model's failure state leads to the identification of four types of cracks. The plastic zone increases with increased brittleness and decreased crack length. Abstract Cracks within the surrounding rock of roadways significantly affect their stability and failure ...

Another Characteristic Property of the Cauchy Distribution [PDF]
1. Main result. The purpose of this paper is to prove the theorem and corollary stated in this section. The corollary answers the question raised in Section 3 of [4] to which we also refer the reader for further motivation. THEOREM. Let X be a symmetric r.v., and Xi, i = 1, 2, , r.v.'s independently and identically distributed as X. The two conditions:

Stochastic Programming with Cauchy Distribution
The aim of this paper is to derive a method for solving a stochastic linear programming problem with Cauchy distribution. Assuming that the coefficients are distributed as Cauchy random variables, the stochastic linear programming is converted to a deterministic non-linear programming problem by a suitable transformation.

ZnO:Al (AZO) nanorods were grown using hexamethylenetetramine–hexamethylenediamine ligand mixture. AZO nanorods that can absorb visible rays, gained high light collection ability. Hexamethylenetetramine–hexamethylenediamine mixture caused the charge transitions at the electrode–electrolyte interface to accelerate and recombinations to decrease ...
